María Estela, originally from Mexico, is a cook and cultural advocate specializing in Mexican cuisine and traditions. A 20-year U.S. resident and mother of six, she fosters community connections through food and heritage as a Mystic Tenant Association member.
Marilza Benevides, originally from Brazil, is the Mystic Tenant Association's secretary. A mother of three and kindergarten teacher, she advocates for the unheard and believes in learning through love and challenges.
Rosie De Assis, a Mystic Tenant Association board member, has three years in the community and a background in business operations and project management. Passionate about justice, she strives to build a thriving community.
Marie Solon, a Mystic Tenant Association member from Haiti, is a former Secretary and Bookkeeper. A resident for 12+ years, she contributes ideas and proudly represents the Haitian community despite health limitations.
Miriam De Oliveira, a Mystic Tenant Association board member, is a dedicated mother of three and a Somerville resident for over three years. Originally from Brazil, she speaks Portuguese and Spanish. Passionate about improving living conditions, she welcomes residents to reach out with concerns.
Ana Da Cruz, a mother of three from Cape Verde, has lived in the community for over a decade. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Cape Verdean Creole, she has worked as an interpreter, translator, and daycare assistant teacher. She joined the Mystic Tenant Association to advocate for and support her community.
Mirian Lopez, a Mystic resident since 2009, is a board member of the Mystic Tenant Association. Originally from El Salvador, she has a background in administrative and healthcare support, advocating for immigrants and patient care. She is proud to help uplift her community.
